This learning event is right for you if you are are wanting to build/enhance your strategies for collecting evidence of student learning to both target your teaching and provide relevant feedback to move learners forward.
This one day workshop will explore several frameworks for using feedback to move learning forward including those of Wiliam and Black, Hattie and Timperley, and Thomas Guskey. Feedback resources produced through a partnership between Evidence for Learning and AITSL will provide a lens for the day. Opportunities to explore different techniques used within primary and secondary settings will be provided. This workshop will also be shaped by gaining feedback from participants prior to the day.

- formative and summative assessment techniques and strategies to enhance learning and save time
- understanding the role learning intentions and success criteria play in the formative assessment process.
Deb Carmichael has worked in Independent schools for over 25 years as a teacher, department head and in senior executive roles. During this time she was involved in a number of projects including professional learning models, classroom observation, student leadership and curriculum development. Deb is now a Senior Advisor at Independent Schools Victoria, working in The Development Centre. This allows her use her experience, ideas, interest in current research and passion for teaching and learning to engage and work with fellow educators.
Will is currently Advisor, Innovation Practice – Curriculum at Independent Schools Victoria. Prior to his current role, he taught English and Drama, holding various leadership positions, including Head of Department and Head of House. He has a passion for assisting young people to strive and thrive in multiple endeavours, challenging students to create and collaborate in order to comment on and positively contribute to the society in which they live.
