This learning event is right for you if you are a secondary school teacher who wants to know more about academic integrity, different forms of plagiarism and learn what strategies you can use to implement and enforce academic integrity in your classroom.

 

Description                                  

This free one-hour webinar will explore what academic integrity is, why it is important for both institutions and students, what the new and emerging forms of plagiarism are, and how you can educate, implement and enforce academic integrity in the physical or online classroom.

With unfettered access to information and ideas in the digital age, educator guidance can support students to develop good habits when it comes to citing, paraphrasing and producing honest, original work.

Presenter information

Mackenzie Woeste        

Mackenzie Woeste is Turnitin’s New Client Manager, assisting schools to address their academic integrity needs and helping educators save time and boost efficiencies in their assignment and assessment delivery. Having graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing degree, Mackenzie moved to Melbourne where she started her career working in McGraw Hill in the education industry. At McGraw Hill, she worked closely with educators assisting them in the assessment, curriculum and digital learning landscape.

Brenton Wyett               

Brenton Wyett is Turnitin’s New Business Manager for Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. Commencing the role in February 2020, Brenton is responsible for helping secondary education institutions and the vocational education and training sector to address their academic integrity and assessment needs. Prior to joining Turnitin, for over 9 years, Brenton was a secondary school teacher in Melbourne. He also has more than 20 years’ experience in strategic planning, business development and sales, across diverse Asia Pacific markets including Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Korea, for companies such as Computelec, Edsoft, Autodesk and Oracle.
