This learning event is right for you if you have responsibility for leading a team. You might be a learning area leader, or responsible for a professional learning team.
If a team is effective, people learn from each other. Much more can be accomplished than could be working on their own. Team members inspire and challenge each other. Teams allow members to play to their strengths and build efficiencies into their work together. Belonging to an effective team feels good and grows our collective efficacy. Students learn more when their teachers work together. Learn about the characteristics of effective teams, the strategies to nurture their growth and the requirements of leaders to create an open and inclusive team culture.
Collective teacher efficacy is, according to Professor John Hattie and his team, the number one influence related to student achievement. Essentially, teachers working together can achieve more, especially if they believe that collectively they can do so. To harness this potential, how teachers work together matters. Working in collaborative teams to build our shared knowledge is the way to go.
This learning event supports creating best practice toward the following VRQA standard(s):

Aine Maher is an Ambassador for Independent Schools Victoria. She designs and delivers customised professional learning programs in the areas of curriculum, teaching and learning and leadership development. Aine is an accomplished presenter, a skilled communicator and, with expertise and experience in independent schools over many years, highly knowledgeable in her field. A dynamic networker, Aine has participated in a broad range of state and national advisory and representative committees giving her access to contemporary thinking and practice in learning design, organisational culture and leadership.
