This learning event is right for you if you are new to the role of coordinating the area of students with individual needs and will be part of the NCCDSSD team in the school.

Description

The NCCDSSD will be discussed in relation to the processes to be followed in collecting the data, the whole school approach to the NCCDSSD and its connection to funding for students with disabilities.

There has been a change in the way in which students with disabilities in schools are funded by the Commonwealth Government. All schools in Australia are required to take part in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability and it is important that all schools follow the guidelines set out by the Commonwealth government in collecting this data.

Key takeaways

  • an awareness of the materials available to assist schools in meeting the requirements of the NCCDSSD
  • an understanding of the importance of a whole school approach to the collection of data for the NCCDSSD.
