Audience

This learning event is right for you if you are a guiding coalition (school team of 3-5 participants - leaders, teachers, students) wanting to review and create a future-focussed SEL program and structure in your school.

Description

Global trends point us towards probable outcomes and challenge us to create a world built in ways that deepen agency, belonging and creativity in our schools. Building from the field of social-emotional learning (SEL), with its decades of evidence linked to impact on learning and life outcomes, you will discover how to go further toward human-centred practices in your school.

Join globally recognised educator, futurist, and strategist Louka Parry as he shares key themes and developments from his work across the globe, including new concepts and possibilities for change in your school.

This course is structured to assist school guiding coalitions (teams) to review, develop and build an authentic future-focused social-emotional learning (SEL) approach based on research-informed practices.

The sessions will guide school teams through the:

  • Philosophy of SEL – including an understanding of your community's strengths and needs
  • Practice of SEL -  including a roadmap of vision, strategy, tactics to shift mental models and behaviours
  • Sharing Summit – opportunity to share your prototyped SEL informed approach and learning to create the future

“Inspirational. A spiritual visceral experience that will positively impact my work, my life, and the lives of all those I lead and serve. I could not believe how time flew by, I was so engaged that I did not even take notes in fear of missing one word.”
