Principal, Executive Leader

This whole day ISV exclusive will guide Principals and Deputy Principals through the complexities of generative artificial intelligence. We will explore the implications for schools at all levels, from students to teachers, from classroom instruction to administration and leadership.

Guided by the Australian Framework for Generative AI in Schools, the session will focus on improving your underlying knowledge, your overall knowledge of the technology, how to lead your school through the turbulence created by AI over the next 12 months, how to begin the process of writing effective school policies, and how to use AI yourself in your day-to-day role as a school leader.

This workshop is broken into three parts:

Part One: Hands-On with Generative AI
In the first part of the day, we will experiment with a range of tools including text, image, audio, and video generation, exploring how these tools might be used in and outside of the classroom.

Part Two: Leading Schools with Generative AI
In part two, we will use the Australian Framework for Generative AI in Schools to guide a discussion about policy, safety, AI ethics and incorporating these technologies into the classroom. We will also discuss best practices for communicating these changes with students, staff, parents and the whole school community.

Part Three: Leadership Workshop
With the tools used in part one and the ethical understanding gained in part two, the final workshop is designed for principals and deputy principals to identify ways to use the technology in their day-to-day work, to reduce workload, ease administrative burdens, save time and make the most of generative AI technologies.

Participants will receive a complimentary copy of Leon's book Practical AI Strategies.
