This learning event is right for you if you are looking to build a culture of positive, inclusive conversation and action around data throughout the whole year

Description                                       

This one-day program will provide strategies to engage teachers in a broader conversation regarding the VCE data that is provided by the VCE Data Service.

Case Studies from schools will be presented as stimulus for discussion around how a focus on conversation throughout the year, linked to targeted meeting structures, can enhance making meaning from the multiple reports that are provided.

This day is designed as an addition to, not a replacement of the course run by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA).  The focus is on using the data, not on in-depth explanations of each part of the VCE Data Service.

Presenter Information

Karen Milkins-Hendry

Karen Milkins-Hendry is Dean of The Development Centre at Independent Schools Victoria. Her 26 years working in schools included leadership experience that spanned across pastoral and academic areas with extended periods as Acting Principal. This background provided valuable strategic skills and experience to bring into both the development and implementation of leadership programs. With a teaching background as broad as Specialist Mathematics and Chemistry through to VCE Theatre Studies, Karen relishes her current role of engaging with the broader educational community with a view to providing evidence-based support to the unique improvement journey of schools.
