This learning event is right for you if you are an english year 7 to year 10 teacher looking to amplify your unit planning
Amplify your unit planning for the contemporary learner – English has your students at the forefront of every unit plan. This one-day workshop will be highly interactive, encouraging you to embed the most up-to-date techniques in order to engage each and every learner in each and every class.
Participants will work with ISV staff and experienced current practitioners to embed collaboration and communication, critical thinking and creativity, exploration, experimentation and knowledge building, and reflection into their planning. The aim of this workshop is to create meaningful and relevant units that lead to high levels of engagement and empowerment of both the student and teacher.
Participants will receive coaching from presenters on the day, as well as a follow-up session to track progress and success of the implementation.

Will Hanley is currently Advisor, Innovation Practice – Curriculum at Independent Schools Victoria. Prior to his current role, he taught English and Drama, holding various leadership positions, including Head of Department and Head of House. He has a passion for assisting young people to strive and thrive in multiple endeavours, challenging students to create and collaborate in order to comment on and positively contribute to the society in which they live.
Charlie fell into teaching some 23 years ago and has worked various roles and settings in Australia and the UK, mostly in English and Humanities. Since 2010, he has taught English at Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School, leading the Middle School faculty since 2016 during a time of great evolution and change. He is passionate about renovating curriculum and units to engage students and staff alike.
