This learning event is right for you if you have responsibility for leading and/or implementing change in your school.

Change management research has shown, time and time again, that organisational change initiatives fail more often than they succeed. Effective leadership is necessary for change to be successful. Learn about the key leadership competencies necessary for change with an emphasis on connecting the process aspects of change with the people aspects.

Leading improvement, innovation and change is one of the three professional practices identified in the Australian Professional Standard for Principals, a statement that underpins progression for leaders at all stages of their career development. Growing one’s knowledge and skills about change is a sound investment for current and future practice.

This learning event supports creating best practice toward the following VRQA standard(s):

  • Curriculum and Student Learning – Student learning outcomes.

Key takeaways

  • overview of different models for change
  • explicit focus on both process aspects and people aspects
  • introduction to a range of resources to support your work
  • connection with others who have built expertise in this role
  • planning tools to design your next steps.
