This learning event is right for you if you are an in-house maintenance head, groundsman, or specialist program manager, such as farm, vineyard or restaurants operator. It is also suitable for Heads of Art, Science, Performing Arts and Outdoor Education departments.


This half-day session is aimed at giving participants a fuller understanding of specific OHS regulations, risk management techniques and accepted best practice in a school environment to ensure regulatory compliance. The session will explore the following topics:

  • OHS risk management
  • best practice – work permits, SWMS and risk assessments
  • OHS regulations including: plant and machinery; prevention of falls; chemical management – hazardous substances and dangerous goods; noise; manual handling and confined spaces
  • high risk work
  • electrical safety testing and tagging
  • supervision of contractors.
