Description

Critical incident management is a growing aspect of risk within schools. The nature of critical incidents is becoming more and more diverse, from major facilities incidents, to social media exposure, incidents triggering lockdowns and evacuations. How we manage critical incidents can have major implication on student and staff safety, how quickly our school can resume operation and how we protect our school's reputation. This half-day seminar explores the nature of critical incidents in schools, how to develop an effective critical incident management plan, as well as exploring real life examples that will provide valuable insights and learnings from relevant case studies. A panel of experts will lead discussion on potential exposures, explain possible risk management processes, and discuss the requirements of emergency response procedures together with some of the implementation challenges associated with activities such as lockdowns, evacuations, bushfire response and business continuity planning.

How you manage the various risks in terms of critical incidents confronting your school has a critical affect on your overall performance, reputation and the safety of your school community.
