Join us for a day where we’ll quickly turn those tough conversations at school into something you can handle. Led by Andrew Fuller and Dr Stephen Brown, this masterclass is about making hard conversations much less daunting. You’ll learn how to connect and communicate your messages with less stress.

The most powerful leadership tool is communication skills, as these build relationships.

In the first part of the day, we deliver a deep dive into high-impact and effective communication strategies from leading, seeding, pacing, utilising, and creating conversations for change.

Apply these skills to a ‘tricky’ conversation, so come with your favourite, troublesome conversation in mind!

Then, on to the stickier situations. The trickiest conversations are part of our everyday lives as educators and school leaders. Equip yourself with the skills to deflect and deal with the angry, the bewildered and those who are challenged with self-awareness. Learn strategies for everyday scenarios where tricky conversations may occur and how to initiate tricky discussions to achieve the best outcomes for all.

Learn new perspectives and theory of mind skills when dealing with conversations that escalate quickly. Prepare and respond rather than react with strategic exit strategies and tools which all educators will benefit.

Key takeaways

  • learn high-impact effective communication skills
  • strategies to respond and de-escalate tricky conversations
  • understanding of ways to initiate tricky conversations to achieve greater outcomes for all
  • tools for setting up conversations for change.
