This learning event is right for you if you are a school leader who is currently in a middle or senior leadership role and keen to explore the changing landscape for leaders in today’s schools
Description
This free course is a lead in for an intensive two day course in Term Three. It is particularly appropriate for those tasked with a leadership role in the performance and development of colleagues. The commitment of schools to ongoing improvement requires the development of a different skill set in their leaders that focuses on:
- mastering professional conversations
- leading the growth and professional learning of others
- implementing performance and development processes in line with the Australian Teacher Performance and Development Framework
- modelling contemporary thinking in our leadership styles
- leading a learning community.
This two hour course will give you a sample of the approaches and resources which will be undertaken in the two day course.
Presenter information
Jackie Macreadie
Jackie Macreadie is a Principal Advisor for Independent Schools Victoria with over 25 years’ experience in education, both in schools and universities. She has held diverse portfolios, ranging from development of international student programs, Registered Training Organisations, to leading change in schools as a school leader. Jackie has held several roles at university in a faculty and marketing management and administrative capacity, as well as lecturing in science and the Masters of Teaching for Deakin University, Monash University and Holmesglen TAFE. She has also played leading roles in the implementation of various Australian and Victorian Government education programs.
Sarah Tielman
Sarah Tielman is a Principal Advisor, School Improvement for Independent Schools Victoria. She is an experienced educator who has worked as a classroom teacher, principal and advisor in a variety of educational settings for almost 20 years. Sarah has a passion for, and experience leading, programs and schools that are future focused and make use of a range of innovative structures, learning technologies and digital tools.
