This learning event is right for you if you are a Year 7 to Year 10 mathematics teacher who enjoys continuing to build their effectiveness in the classroom
This one-day workshop will explore strategies, tasks and techniques to target teaching and maximise student learning. Approaches to building a positive learning environment, engaging in high quality instructional practice and using effective feedback will be the core components of the day. A key feature of the workshop will be learning how to create a culture of growth, inquiry and risk-taking to assist all students to take part in the mathematical conversation.

Deb Carmichael has taught mathematics for over 25 years across all secondary year levels and in a variety of contexts. She has held Head of Department roles and Senior Executive roles. Deb is now a Senior Advisor at Independent Schools Victoria, working in The Development Centre. This allows her to use her experience, ideas, current research and passion for mathematics teaching to engage and work with fellow educators.
