This learning event is right for you if you are looking for a new strategy to implement in your classroom that really engages students and results in deep understanding of the content
Problem Based Learning (PBL) teaches students to develop thinking skills such as the ability to hypothesise, synthesize, analyse, evaluate, and generalise information rather than simply recall it. Higher order thinking skills are seldom taught but should be included as part of any curriculum.
During this session you will learn the theory and benefits of problem-based learning and why it is a great method to use to teach our students. You will be given some practical examples of PBL and have the opportunity to work through some PBL problems in small groups. This will allow you to understand the types of questions/ hurdles the students will encounter. You will have the opportunity to explore ways in which you can adapt and apply PBL in your own classroom.
Come along to this session to learn how to incorporate PBL into your classroom.
