Description
Cultural Understanding professional learning empowers school staff to foster culturally safe and inclusive environments that enhance First Nations students' wellbeing which can lead to better educational outcomes.
Through self-reflection, first-hand accounts and an understanding approach, the workshop helps participants rethink how First Nations perspectives are taught and give them the confidence they need to get started.
The workshop is built around first-hand accounts from First Nations people and introduces the Australian’s Together Learning Framework.

Australians Together - Tamara Fitzpatrick
This workshop is facilitated by Tamara Fi from Australians Together
Tamara is a proud First Nations woman who has spent over two decades building meaningful partnerships across the education, community, finance, health, disability, aged care and not-for-profit sectors. Drawing on both her professional experience and lived experience, she is passionate about supporting leaders and organisations to deepen their understanding of First Nations histories, cultures and perspectives, and to turn that understanding into meaningful action and lasting change.
Australians Together is a Not-for-Profit organisation made up of a passionate and diverse group of First Nations people and non-Indigenous people who want to see the lived experiences of First Nations people improved. Their staff, consultants and collaborators are committed to respectfully learning from, and partnering with, First Nations cultural and community Elders and leaders, academics and educators.
