Description

The Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment Tactile program is an immersive course designed to transform the way kinesthetic and visually impaired learners engage with their environment. This interactive and hands-on approach to education was conceived by Professor Reuven Feuerstein and has been further developed by Professor Roman Gouzman.

Through Tactile IE, learners who become overwhelmed by too much information, like those with ADHD, can find a new way to process the world around them. By focusing on touch and movement, the specifically designed materials and method helps the brain to organise and sequence information effectively, encouraging the development of critical thinking.

Using raised images and shapes, Tactile IE helps visually impaired students build their understanding of the world in a tactile way offering them the chance to sharpen their cognitive abilities through the Mediated Learning Experience, a technique pioneered by Feuerstein.

In this course, you'll discover how to guide learners in forming mental tactile images and comparing them to what they already know. This comparison is key to learning as it involves high-level thinking processes like hypothesizing and logical reasoning, which are essential for learning.

Whether you're an educator, a therapist, or a parent, this course will equip you with unique strategies to help learners who see the world differently. You'll leave with the ability to empower these students to explore, understand, and integrate new concepts using their sense of touch as a powerful learning ally.

This course does not include personal copies of the Tactile instruments. These can be ordered form the Feuerstein Publishing House upon course completion. A user guide will be provided.
