This learning event will support you to understand the law and your role and responsibilities when responding to children and young people whose health, safety or wellbeing may be at risk.

Topics for discussion will include:

  • Identifying and responding to allegations of child abuse and student sexual offending
  • Identifying the early signs and risk factors of child abuse
  • Meeting your mandatory reporting obligations
  • Following the PROTECT Guidelines and the Four Critical Actions (as developed by the Department of Education and Training)
  • Complying with the Reportable Conduct Scheme
  • Understanding the Child Safe Standards
