Presenter Information

Marianne Dienes
Marianne brings over 23 years of experience as a social worker across the child, youth and family and education sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from La Trobe University and a Master of Advanced Social Work from the University of Melbourne. Marianne has held senior roles in both the Department of Education and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. She spent 12 years working in a Victorian Special Assistance School, including leadership roles. Marianne has expertise in trauma-informed practice in education as well as restorative practices. She has a particular interest in secondary traumatic stress among school staff and the application of implementation science to drive sustainable change in educational settings. A passionate advocate for Special Assistance Schools, Marianne is committed to ensuring that every Victorian student has access to the right environment to thrive and succeed in their education.
